Let me just start this out by saying diffusers are LIFE CHANGING!
Real talk, I started using essential oils and I thought that a diffuser was a luxury item. I could get by without one. It took me over 6 months after I started using essential oils to finally invest in a diffuser. After using one for the first time I was kicking myself for not just getting one at the start! I was in love!
Diffusing essential oils is an amazingly easy way to utilize their benefits. And as an added bonus, it makes your home smells soooooo good! Just a few examples of what you can use diffusers for:
So what IS a diffuser, anyway? In short, diffusers blow an ultra fine mist of essential oils into the air. There are different kinds, but the kind I use an prefer use water and ultrasonic vibrations to disperse the essential oils. I’ll show you my two favorites here:
The Petal from doTERRA is a great little work horse! This is the first diffuser I ever bought and it’s still going strong after 4 1/2 years of use! I’ve had many other cheaper options over the years and we’ll just say that you get what you pay for!
The Petal has a timer that can be set for 1, 2, or 4 hours and it automatically shuts off when the water reservoir is empty. It also has a soft white light that can be turned on or off. Just two parts, the lid and the bse so it’s super simple to use. It’s a solid basic diffuser and this is the one that comes in the Home Essentials Kit!
My favorite diffuser is the doTERRA’s Lumo. It also has just the base and the cover so it’s also really user friendly. It has a 2, 5, or 10 hour timer. It has the option of a white light or colored LED lights. The colored lights can either rotate or you can pick one color.
The reason I love this one is because of the 10 hour setting. It’s great for bedrooms because it runs all night long! I actually use this one daily in our open concept. The 10 hour setting diffuses intermittently. It cycles 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off and also shuts off automatically when the water runs out.
